ON DUSHERA : 

There comes Dushera and celebrations all across the country go many miles up - for it signifies the victory of good over the evil . Children are raised on the myth that finally good forces emerge out as winners , have we ever paused for a moment to analyze : what is good and what is bad , Devtas are suppose to represent good forces and Rakshasas the evil forces .RAM ,an incarnation of LORD VISHNU came to the world for eliminating Ravan - the super powerful king of Rakshasas .It is widely believed that the Danav king kidnapped the wife of Ram and treated her with all the respect while she was in his custody though Ravan was considered to be ultimate in badness . On the contrary the king of Devtas , the good and civilized lot of that period , Indra was invited for a function by a Rishi - Gautam at his abode and taking advantage of his position forced himself upon the wife of his host in the wee hours of night ; this turned the innocent lady into a shocked state ( stone ) and the Rishi or the society couldn't muster enough courage to punish Indra - the culprit for his cowardly act .

The point of order is : if Devtas were good then how come their king was so wicked and if Danavs were so bad , why their king acted in a gentleman's way , is it that this whole issue of good and bad , of victory of good over evil a cooked up story for construction of false divide between good and bad and as such every thing is as good as bad it is . JUST A MATTER OF PERCEPTION DEPENDING UPON WHICH SIDE OF THE FENCE ONE IS .
