INDIA LOCKED

After a sudden imposition of LOCKDOWN with a four hours notice to fight pandemic COVID19 by the Prime Minister w.e.f 24th March, have put the  migrant workers and other section of millions of stranded people across the country with untold sufferings leading  to hunger, starvations, evictions from jobs, deprivation of wages and deaths of workers. The tragic Railway accident at Maharasthra of migrant workers with a toll of 15 deaths,  and many other deaths while on their tidious long journey to homes on foot, still being continued,  have touched the heart of the people of India with protests to which the Prime Minister has expressed his grief and sorrow. The Home Minster also promised all sorts of  quick steps  by the Railways for speedy repatriation of the  migrant workers and other millions of stranded people. But all those promises of the Central Govt. as announced by Finance Minister in respect of providing adequate ration and relief materials with a meagre monetary support under 1.70 lakhs of crores budget,  the P. M's much announced of no retrenchment and no deprivation of wages during Lock Down period by the employers,  have utterly failed. There are reports of small section of people receving the benifits as announced by the Finance Minister while a overwhelming majority of migrant workers still remain the non-recepient of Budgeted benifits which fuelled their anger and outbursts leading to desparate  leaving of their places for homes,  as reported in the news media and social media.
On first May after 40 days of Lock Down, the  Central Home Minister announced about operation of Railways for repatriation of workers , the much celebrated day of Internstional Working Class on their right of 8 hours work a day,. But it is now  open  that the BJP ruled States unilaterally issued the Oridinance suspending of existing labour laws  increasing  the working hours of workers  from 8 to 12 hours a day.
The Corporate employers organisations are now openly advocating to Central Govt for this measure of suspension of existing Labour Laws in the name of fighting Pandemic and commencing operation of economy activities. The spree of rampant wage cuts and retrenchment with increased working period to 12 hours by the employers have started defying the Prime Minister's declaration. His Govts' inaction appears to be shocking. This will be a violation of ILO convention too what it appears and a beginning  of a slavery-type system for the Working Class,  not in consonance with the spirit of Constitution of India and democracy.
